Curling Pool faqs
What is curling pick’em?
Curling Pick’em is a prediction-based game offered by OfficePools for major curling events like:
- The Montana’s Brier
- The Scotties Tournament of Hearts
Participants earn points by predicting the winner of each matchup listed on the picking schedule.
How Does It Work?
- For every correct prediction, participants earn points.
- The person with the most points at the end of the tournament wins the pool (or ranks highest in the standings).
What Is a Rolling Deadline?
OfficePools uses a rolling deadline system:
- Each game has its own cutoff time.
- Poolies can make or change their picks right up until the start of each match.
- This format adds flexibility and allows you to stay engaged throughout the tournament.

What is the tiebreaker in Curling Pick’em
After all picks are made for the Preliminary Round, you’ll be asked to enter a tiebreaker guess:
How many total points will the Championship-winning team score over the entire tournament?
This number is locked in after the preliminary round ends.
How the Tiebreaker Is Used
- If two or more poolies finish with the same number of correct picks, the tiebreaker is used to determine the winner.
- The poolie whose guess is closest to the actual total wins.
- You can go over the actual number.
If two guesses are equally close, the tiebreaker goes to the lower guess.
Example:
- Actual total: 75
- Poolie A guessed: 73
- Poolie B guessed: 77
- Poolie A wins, as 73 (2 under) beats 77 (2 over).
