What types of pools do you offer in entertainment?
- Oscars Pool – Offered annually, where participants predict winners in major Academy Award categories.
- U.S. Election Pool – Previously offered during election years.
- Game of Thrones Pool – Offered during the final season to predict plot outcomes.
Will more entertainment pools become available?
Yes! OfficePools plans to expand its Entertainment Pool offerings in the future. Keep an eye out for new events and themed pools throughout the year.

How do I create an Oscars pool?
To set up your Oscars Pick’em Pool, follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to the General Settings Tab
- Sign in to your OfficePools account.
- Navigate to the Admin menu.
- Click the General tab to access your pool’s basic setup options.
(Or go directly to: General Settings)
Step 2: Customize Your Pool
- Enter your Pool Name, Start Date, and End Date.
- Choose whether to:
- Enable Trash Talk (for in-pool messaging)
- Show Team Owners in Standings (displays real names and profile images)
Click Save to finalize your general settings.
Step 3: Invite Poolies
- Go to the Invites tab.
- Use the Shareable Invite Link for group invites.
- Or send Personal Invite Links via email for one-time use.
Once invited, participants can log in and make their Oscar predictions before the ceremony begins.
The Oscars pool includes categories like Best Picture, Best Actor/Actress, Best Director, and more.
How do I invite people to my Oscars pool?
To Invite Poolies:
1. Shareable Invite Link (Recommended)
- Go to the Invites tab in the Admin menu.
- Copy the Shareable Invite Link.
- Paste it anywhere—email, text message, group chat, Messenger, or social media.
Reusable: Can be used multiple times
Ideal for group invites or allowing participants to submit more than one entry (if enabled)
2. Personal Invite Link (One-Time Use)
- Also in the Invites tab, select the Email option.
- Enter the recipient’s email address or select from past participants.
- Click Add, then Send.
Personal links are single-use only and not meant for mass sharing.
Once invited, participants can log in and make their Oscar predictions before the ceremony begins.
How do I make my picks in an Oscar pool?
Once a user has joined your Oscars Pick’em pool, making picks is easy and automatic.
Steps to Make Picks:
- Sign in to your OfficePools account.
- From your My Pools dashboard, click on the Oscars pool name.
- Click “Make Your Picks” (or Edit Picks, if modifying them).
- For each category, select your predicted winner from the list of nominees.
Key Details:
- Picks are automatically saved as soon as they’re selected—no need to click a Save button.
- You can edit your picks any time before the pool deadline, usually just before the Oscars ceremony begins.
- Scoring updates in real time as winners are announced during the show
Can the admin edit people’s picks?
To edit picks for a team in your Pick’em pool:
- Go to the Entries page from the Admin menu.
- Find the team you want to edit.
- Click the Edit (pencil) icon next to their name.
- You can now make picks on their behalf or edit any existing picks.
Only the pool admin can make or modify picks for other teams.
How does the admin pay for the Oscar pool?
How to Pay:
- Go to the Admin menu.
- Click on the Payment tab.
- Follow the prompts to complete your payment.
Payment Details:
- Only the pool admin is responsible for making the payment.
- Accepted payment methods include:
- Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard)
- PayPal

Yes! Scoring in an OfficePools Oscars Pick’em pool is live and updates in real time as winners are announced during the ceremony.
- As each award is presented, participants’ scores are automatically updated.
- The standings refresh instantly, so you can follow the leaderboard throughout the show.

Are all Academy Award categories available?
Yes, OfficePools’ Oscars Pick’em includes all 23 official Academy Award categories. Participants can make predictions across the full range of awards, from major honors like Best Picture and Best Director to technical categories such as Best Sound and Best Production Design.
Each correct pick contributes to the participant’s total score, with point values assigned based on the prominence of the category. This comprehensive approach ensures a complete and engaging Oscars prediction experience.
