What golf tournaments do you offer?
We offer all weekly PGA Tour tournaments, including the four Majors:
- The Masters
- PGA Championship
- U.S. Open
- The Open Championship
The only events we exclude are those with team-based scoring formats (e.g., the Zurich Classic).
If you’re unsure whether a specific tournament is available, feel free to contact us!
What is a season-long golf pool?
The PGA Season-Long Golf Pool allows you to manage all PGA tournaments in one pool, rather than creating separate pools each week.
With this format, you get:
- Individual tournament standings for each weekly event
- Overall season standings that track cumulative performance across all tournaments
It’s a great way to keep your group engaged throughout the entire PGA season with both weekly and long-term competition.
How does scoring work in Golf pools?
OfficePools golf pools support two scoring formats: Score to Par and Money Won. Both are displayed in the standings, but by default, the pool ranks teams based on Score to Par.
Score to Par (Default)
- Updates live throughout the tournament.
- Reflects each golfer’s performance relative to par.
- Ideal for real-time tracking.
Money Won
- Updated approximately 1 hour after the tournament ends.
- Reflects actual PGA earnings for selected golfers.
- To view standings by Money Won, simply sort the column in the standings table.
Note for Admins of Money Won Pools:
Go to the Scoring Settings under the SCORING tab in the ADMIN menu and set Drop Worst to 0. This ensures that all golfers count toward the total money earned.
Until the Money Won values are posted, we recommend using the Score to Par column as a general indicator of team performance.
How do I enter a team for a poolie?
Admins can manually enter teams for poolies using the Create Team tool.
Steps to Create a Team:
- Access the Tool:
- While in Admin mode, go to the Roster tab.
- Click on Teams in the sub-menu.
- Click the + Create Team button.
- Enter Team Details:
- Fill in the Team Name and Email Address.
- Optionally, mark the team as Paid.
- Make the player selections for the team.
- Click Save, or Save and add another to enter multiple teams.
Once saved, the team will be added to your pool.
What Happens Next?
- The poolie will receive an email notification from OfficePools with a “Connect to your team now” button.
- Clicking this button connects the team to their account and gives them access to the pool.
- The email will be sent regardless of whether they already have an OfficePools account.
Until the poolie connects:
- Their team will appear in the Team List with a “Remind to Connect” option below it.
- They will not have access to the pool until they either:
- Connect via the email notification, or
- Enter their own team manually.

How does the Cut Penalty work?
The Cut Penalty is used to fairly penalize teams when a golfer misses the cut or withdraws mid-tournament. It prevents teams from gaining an unfair advantage due to fewer rounds played.
How It Works:
- OfficePools fills in missing scores using the worst round score from any golfer selected in your pool, not from the entire tournament.
- This avoids extreme outliers (e.g., amateurs with very high scores) from unfairly impacting results.
Example:
If a golfer plays Rounds 1 and 2 but misses the cut:
- Their Rounds 3 and 4 scores will be replaced with the worst Round 3 and 4 scores from within your pool.
- If the pool uses “Drop Worst 1” and this golfer’s score contributes to the team total, the penalty applies.
Why Use Drop Worst with Cut Penalty?
Most teams in an 8–10 golfer pool will have 1–2 missed cuts.
Using the Drop Worst rule allows those scores to be dropped, keeping things fair.
Cut Penalty only impacts teams when more than the dropped number of golfers miss the cut.

What Is Cut Penalty Offset?
Admins can adjust how strict the penalty is using the Cut Penalty Offset setting in Scoring Settings.
- +2 Offset: Increases the penalty by 2 strokes per missed round.
- -2 Offset: Decreases the penalty by 2 strokes per missed round.
Recommended setting: Leave the offset at 0 (default) for balanced scoring.
What is used as a tiebreaker in golf pools?
In OfficePools fantasy golf pools, the tiebreaker is Money Won.
If two or more teams are tied based on Score to Par (or total points, if applicable), the team with the higher total Money Won will be ranked higher in the standings.
This ensures a fair and consistent way to break ties across the leaderboard.
When are picking templates usually available?
Picking templates are manually created and uploaded by OfficePools for each tournament.
- Weekly Tournaments:
Templates are usually added Monday afternoons (Pacific Time) during the week of the tournament. - Majors:
We aim to upload templates earlier, as soon as the field is finalized.
Major tournaments are also opened in advance so you can invite participants early—but note that:
Poolies cannot make their picks until the picking template is added by the Admin once it becomes available.
If you’re planning around a Major, keep an eye out for early access to invites and template availability.
How do admins edit picking templates?
Admins can customize the picking template by organizing players into different groups (boxes) or creating entirely new ones.
To Access the Template Editor:
- Go to the Admin menu of your pool.
- Click on the Roster tab.
- Select Template from the sub-menu.
Editing Player Groups:
To move a player to a different group:
- Click the trash can icon beside their name to remove them from the current group.
- Use the ‘+’ button in the desired group to search and re-add the player by name.
Note: A player must be deleted from their current group before being added to another.
Creating a New Group (Box):
- Scroll to the bottom of the template page and click the large ‘+’ icon.
- From there, you can:
- Name the new group
- Set how many players can be selected from it
- Add players using the search function
This allows you to fully customize the picking experience for your pool.
