Pool Types

Note that not all pool types are available for all pool categories.

A ‘Box Pool’ allows users to build your dream team by selecting players from pre-defined groups.

Admins can choose from OfficePools’ expertly crafted templates or create their own custom setups.

This is perfect for large groups where player knowledge varies.

A ‘Pick’em’ Pool is where users predict the winners of each matchup on the schedule.

Every correct pick earns you points, so accuracy is key.

A ‘Draft Pool’ is where poolies take turns selecting one player at a time to create a unique team. Each player can only be selected once so strategy is key.

Admins have the option of either hosting their draft through the online Draftroom where draft results will appear in real time, or hosting their draft offline and entering the draft results manually themselves.

An ‘Open Pool’ is similar to a draft pool, but allows for players to belong to multiple teams. This eliminates the need for a draft. Admins set their roster criteria and ask poolies to submit their teams in keeping with that criteria.

In a ‘Bracket Pool,’ users predict the outcome of every matchup in a tournament—round by round—all the way through to the championship. In some formats, participants also guess how many games each series will take (best-of formats only). All picks are made before the tournament begins, and players earn points for each correct prediction.

A ‘Survivor Pool’ tests your instincts by predicting the winner (or loser, depending on the format) of one game each week. Keep making the right calls to stay alive as long as you can — the last one standing wins!

If an Admin or Poolie isn’t receiving emails, it’s usually due to one of the following reasons:

  1. OfficePools Account Not Set Up:
Due to CASL regulations, we can only send emails to users who have given explicit permission — this happens during the account creation process. Please ensure an OfficePools account has been set up.

  2. Emails Going to Spam or Junk Folder:
Check your spam or junk folder to see if our emails have been misdirected. If found there, mark them as safe to ensure future messages from OfficePools.com go to your inbox.

  3. Subscription Settings:
Your email preferences may be turned off. To check:
    • Sign in to OfficePools.
    • Click your name in the top-right corner and select Subscription Settings, or click here.
    • Adjust your settings and click Save.

  4. Blocked Email Address:
Make sure no-reply@officepools.com is not on your blocked list. Some email providers or spam filters can block specific senders, preventing delivery.

  5. Company or Network Email Filters:
If you’re using a work or school email, it’s possible that your organization’s mail server or firewall is blocking emails from OfficePools.com. Contact your IT department and ask them to whitelist our domain or email address to ensure delivery.

No matter how long ago your pool ended, you’ll always have access to it — as long as:

  • That account is connected to your team/entry in the pool.

To access your past pools:

  1. Sign in to OfficePools using the email address associated with your account.
  2. After signing in, you’ll land on your My Pools Dashboard.
  3. At the top of the page, click the PAST POOLS button to switch from Active Pools to Past Pools.

That’s it! You can now view the results and details of any previous pools you’ve participated in. If you’re having trouble finding a past pool, feel free to contact us for help.
